Prosecutors charged a Salt Lake City woman with a felony Wednesday after she allegedly abandoned her baby on a sidewalk Monday morning.
Jamie Dawn Todd, 32, is now facing one count of abuse or neglect of a disabled child, a third-degree felony. Salt Lake City police Lt. Gary Trost said a judge also issued a $25,000 warrant for Todd's arrest. Todd was not taken into custody Monday when her baby was found, but Trost described her as a "wanted person" Wednesday.
The charges and warrant stem from an incident that began Monday at 5:30 a.m., when a jogger discovered a 2-month-old boy in a stroller near 260 N. "A" St. The woman reportedly found the stroller beside several garbage cans. When she didn't see anyone nearby, she called police.
