The Downtown Alliance has announced the winner of its "I am Downtown" video contest, with $5,000 going to Connor Rickman and Nicholas Dunn for their creative take on the eponymous phrase.
Rickman and Dunn will be awarded $5,000. The judging panel's criteria included: originality and creativity, adherence to creative assignment, uniqueness of the story told and overall appeal. The latter, worth 20 percent, was based on likes, comments and views on YouTube.
Rickman and Dunn's entry features a medieval woodsman who is transported to Salt Lake City by a mysterious glowing crystal. The woodsman becomes enamoured of the city and when the crystal begins to glow again, signaling another trip through time and place, he deposits it in a nearby trash can and contentedly walks off into the Salt Lake night.
