Gay Meyers has been elected to the board of directors of the National Lipid Association, a nonprofit, multidisciplinary medical society that represents more than 3,500 members in the United States and provides continuing medical education for physicians and other health care professionals who practice in the field of clinical lipidology. Meyers earned her masters in physician assistant Studies from the University of Utah School of Medicine where she serves as adjunct faculty.

Salt Lake accountant Karen M. Summerhays, owner and founder of The Summerhays Group, recently passed the U.S. Tax Court examination for non-attorneys, authorizing her to represent tax cases before the U.S. Tax Court.

The Utah Bankers Association has bestowed its highest honor, "The Distinguished Banker Award," on Matt Packard, chairman, president and CEO of Central Bank. Packard received the award in recognition of his active leadership in Utah's banking industry and his many years of community service.

NAIOP Utah, the commercial real estate Development association, announced several leadership changes to its board of directors. Dana Baird of Cushman & Wakefield/Commerce was elected board chair and Dusty Harris of Hines president-elect. Zions Bank's John Bergstedt was elected treasurer; RiverPark's Jason England secretary; Joshua Creer of The Buckner Company, membership chair; CBRE's Mark Boucherd, public affairs chair; Penn Owens of Layton Construction Co., programs chair and Nate Boyer as the chapter's developing leaders chair.

Peak Capital Partners, an Orem-based residential multifamily investment company, has announced that Jayme Buhlman has joined its staff as senior vice president of asset management.

Scott Robins, a family medicine physician, has joined Western Hills Medical Clinic in Taylorsville. The new clinic is a member of Physician Group of Utah. Robins earned his medical degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University.

Coldwell Banker Commercial Utah Region Office has announced that Senior Associate Troy Scheel will join the full service brokerage firm's St. George office this month.

Kendall A. Grose, a specialist in pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation, has joined Jordan Valley Neurology Associates in West Jordan, a member practice of Physician Group of Utah. Grose earned his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.

Salt Lake County employees Patrick Fleming and Kerry Steadman were recognized by the Community Foundation of Utah as members of its "Enlightened 50" list of people who make measurable differences in their communities. Fleming is director of the county Division of Behavioral Health. Steadman is the county's Homeless Services coordinator. The foundation's list also includes County Councilman Sam Granato, who represents east-central Salt Lake County, for his role as owner of Granato's Deli.

Jazz Arts of the MountainWest, producer of the Salt Lake City International Jazz Festival, has named Louie Strike as the nonprofit's new president.

Backcountry.com, a Park City-based online retailer of outdoor gear, has hired cycling and outdoor industry veteran Adrian Montgomery as its new director of brand marketing.
