Weekend motorists should probably avoid a stretch of Interstate 15 near Lehi, or at least be prepared to spend extra time getting through the area.

The Utah Department of Transportation warns that southbound I-15 between mile posts 279 and 282, or roughly from Main Street through 2100 North in Lehi, will be restricted to two lanes due to construction work beginning 8 p.m. Friday.

The restrictions will not be lifted until 6 a.m. Monday, UDOT says.

Drivers are advised to instead detour onto U.S. 89, or State Street, to travel the affected area with less delay.
