A Spanish Fork woman, run over by a trailer during an altercation with her estranged husband's female friend, remained on life support and in critical condition on Thursday.

Spanish Fork police Lt. Matt Johnson said that the 43-year-old victim, Debra Butler, was injured Tuesday night. Butler had returned home, near 500 East and 350 South, about 7:30 p.m. to find the other woman, 53, removing a trailer loaded with all-terrain vehicles and a snowblower from the residence.

The two women argued over the trailer, which already was hooked to the suspect's pickup truck. As the suspect drove away, Butler reached through the truck window to try to stop her. Butler's arm became stuck in the window.

Butler was dragged "a short distance" before she fell from the truck and was run over by the trailer being hauled by the truck, Johnson said.

Butler was taken to a hospital, where she underwent surgery for head trauma.

The suspect remained in the Utah County jail on Thursday, where she had been booked on suspicion of aggravated assault, leaving the scene of an accident and various drug and traffic charges. The suspect was being held without bail; she was already awaiting trial on drug charges at the time of the incident.
