One person died Sunday in a rollover near Saltair Drive, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

A silver Toyota was eastbound on Interstate 80 when it veered into the median and rolled several times about 7:30 a.m., ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, a UHP news release said. The driver, identified as David Mecham, 52, of Syracuse, died.

Mecham's wife, Michelle Mecham, 51, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported to Intermountain Medical Center by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries, UHP said.

Investigators believe the driver fell asleep.
