A Midvale man died after a semi-truck hit him on the highway near Glenns Ferry, Idaho.

Jason Richmond, 32, was standing on the driver's side of his 2012 Jeep Patriot on Saturday evening, helping a tow truck operator remove his Jeep from Interstate 84. They were about 5 miles east of Glenns Ferry, at milepost 125, according to a news release.

About 8:12 p.m., Volodymyr Boyko, 57, of Portland, Ore., was traveling eastbound in a semitrailer when he struck Richmond, the release states. The Midvale man died at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
