Civics Central: Orem to discuss billboards, Bountiful looking at alternative City Hall design

Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. Government agencies have until 24 hours before a meeting to post their agendas, so check back as this schedule will be updated. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Bluffdale City Council » Will consider authorizing the city manager to enter into an agreement awarding the contract for ADA ramp improvements for various locations in the city and will hear a presentation from a Jordan School District representative on the upcoming special bond election; Tuesday, Sept. 10, 7 p.m., 14350 S. 2200 West, Bluffdale. Bountiful City Council » Will consider alternative City Hall and art and history museum design, and will consider approval of a fixed limit cost of construction for the new City Hall of $8.5 million and a total building construction cost of $9.97 million; Tuesday, Sept. 10, 7 p.m., 790 S. 100 East, Bountiful. Clearfield City Council » Will discuss in a work session the creation of a Community Development Area (CDA) for the area including and surrounding Clearfield Station. At a regular session immediately following the work session, will consider appointment of Richard Knapp as administrative services director; Tuesday, Sept. 10, 6 p.m., 55 S. State St., Clearfield. Clinton City Council » The Tuesday, Sept. 10, meeting has been canceled.

Davis County Commission • Will consider an amended letter of support to the Utah Department of Transportation on the West Davis Corridor process; Tuesday, Sept. 10, 10 a.m., Davis County Administrative Office Building, 61 S. Main St., Farmington. View the Davis County agenda.

Midvale Planning Commission » Will hold public hearings on a request by Salt Lake County to subdivide an 18.2 acre parcel located at 7125 S. 600 West into three industrial lots, and on a request by Brett Smith for a conditional use permit for a vehicle sales use at 7619 S. Salt Lake City Council » Salt Lake City Council • Will hold a retreat to discuss transportation, public engagement and other policy issues. The public invited to attend; Tuesday, Sept. 10, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Public Safety Building community room, 475 S. 300 East, Salt Lake City.

Salt Lake County Council » Will receive an update on sales tax revenues and consider resident Marion Cox's request to have the county provide land for a statue to his ancestors, pioneers in the Fort Union area; Tuesday, Sept. 10, 9 a.m., Room 2003, North Building, Salt Lake County Government Center, 2001 S. Sandy City Council » In lieu of the regularly scheduled meeting, council members, the mayor and department head will meet with Parks & Recreation Department staffers, who will present a video of programs and projects completed during the past 12 months; Tuesday, Sept. 10, 5 p.m., River Oaks Golf Course, 9300 S. West Jordan City Council • Will hold a public hearing on the proposed rezoning of 20.3 acres from A-1 (Agricultural 1-acre lots minimum) to R-1-12F (Single-Family Residential 12,000-square-foot lots minimum and 'F' home size), for Okubo Farms Subdivision at approximately 2021 W.
