Hawaii's football special teams coordinator and safeties coach Chris Demarest has been issued a one-game suspension by the Mountain West Conference for his inappropriate actions on the sideline during Hawaii 33-14 loss at Oregon State game on Saturday.

Demarest will be prohibited from coaching in the next Hawaii game which is scheduled for Sept. 21 at Nevada.

The Mountain West suspended Demarest under a sportsmanship rule that governs obscene gestures and language toward other people during games.
