Utah State football will have a big chance to shine on television when it visits the Coliseum this week.

The Aggies will take on USC on ABC in western markets, including Utah. In the east, the contest will air on ESPN2, the school announced Sunday.

The kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, and Utah State will be on ABC for the first time since its Oct. 7, 1978, game against BYU, according to the Aggies' athletic department.

The contest should be one of the most visible stages for the Aggies this season, as the team is scheduled to play on ESPN, CBS Sports Network and Root Sports in later games this year. The Mountain West Championship game is scheduled to air on CBS, but Utah State has to earn its way into that game by winning the Mountain Division.

Even before the television schedule for Saturday's contest was announced, coach Matt Wells stressed the importance of the exposure playing USC brings.

"We'll be in a national spotlight," he said. "It will give us a chance to continue to brand our image. It's all about marketing from a recruiting standpoint."
