Electricity returned Tuesday afternoon for almost all of the 25,900 homes and businesses in Wasatch County and Park City affected in a power outage earlier in the day.
The few without electricity were expected to get their lights and appliances turned on again soon. Heber Light and Power reported that about 12,000 customers, in a county of about 24,400 people, had no electricity as of 12:35 p.m. after Heber Light and Power lost its feed from Rocky Mountain Power. As of 1:55 p.m., the company had restored power to almost everyone and was only fielding intermittent calls from small pockets.
Rocky Mountain Power, which serves Park City, reported on its website that about 15,075 homes and businesses in the 84036, 84060, 84049, 84098, 84032 and 84017 zip codes were affected. Power was also out for almost 600 homes and businesses in the 84121 zip code, which the website lists as including the Brighton, Salt Lake City and Big Cottonwood Canyon areas.
