Latino newspaper

How nice someone is going to be getting a paper, since our local paper is slowly fading away. What is sad is the fact that the Latino community does not want to be part of its American community and seems more interested in separating itself.

They say their voices are not being heard, but it's not that we don't hear you it's that we don't understand you. It's nice to be proud of one's native ancestry, but as Americans we speak English, for one reason: As a country with many languages it would be totally impossible to please everyone's native tongue.

Learning English is a small sacrifice but one we should all embrace with great pride as all our forefathers did. English is what puts the "one" in "One Nation under God." It's not meant to push anyone away but to make all of us as one.

I hope the Latino paper does well. I'm just not sure if the Latino community wants to build a bridge or put up a brick wall?
