A convicted kidnapper is charged with murdering his cellmate at Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison.

Steven Crutcher, 32, was charged Monday with first-degree felony aggravated murder in the April 20 death of 62-year-old Rolando Cardona-Gueton. Cardona-Gueton was serving time for theft and drug distribution when he was found dead in his cell. The cause of his death has not been released.

Crutcher pleaded guilty to first-degree felony aggravated kidnapping, which occurred June 29, 2009, in Iron County, according to court records.

He was sentenced to 10 years to life in prison. He also pleaded guilty in 2009 to second-degree felony theft by receiving stolen property in Cedar City and was sentenced to another one to 15 years.
