Here's what's being talked about in pop culture:

• Canadian author Alice Munro, a specialist of the short-story form, has been given the Nobel Prize for Literature. [Washington Post]

• The Los Angeles Times' letters section will no longer run letters from people who deny evidence that humans are causing climate change — because, the editors say, such letters are factually inaccurate. (In other words, the evidence is plentiful.) [Salon]



• "We Are Men" and we are cancelled: CBS has canned the freshman sitcom, and will bring back "Mike & Molly" in November. [The Hollywood Reporter]
