Dog slobber and fur dander can be pretty gross in real life, but I never would have guessed that in slow motion they're actually pretty beautiful.

The video above, titled "Shake," was posted to Vimeo last week by New York City production company Variable. It's a companion to a book, also called "Shake," from co-director Carli Davidson.

The video is bizarrely hypnotic, with dogs great and small (and dreadlocked!) reveling in their corporeality. And it comes with this sage viewing advice: "Shake off all the worries on your mind and smile! The dogs featured in 'Shake' are simply here to offer you a couple minutes of wonder and laughter."

If only we could all be dogs, flinging our drool without a care in the world.
