Letter: Cut cost of shutdown from GOP budget plan

I have a suggestion: When a deal is reached on how much money we should cut from federal programs to balance the national budget, and we have that final amount, we automatically deduct the $24 billion that the Republicans cost the country with the recent shutdown, and just cut from whatever is left.

It just seems fair.
