Every Sunday I read about upcoming events in the area in The Mix section of the Tribune. I appreciate learning of them and go to some. Wouldn't it be great if there were a place in the newspaper where people could go to find out about opportunities to participate in the democratic process?

These events could include things like town hall meetings, rallies and protests sponsored by various groups, city council meetings, etc. I know a lot of people who are very frustrated with the current political situation and would like to be more engaged, but don't know where to start.

Often you hear about these events after the fact and it's too late. It would also give the media the opportunity to cover more of these events, which they are often unaware of. Anything we can do to get more people involved in solving this country's problems would help.
