• Metal bands The Word Alive and I See Stars headline at In the Venue, 219 S. 600 West, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Crown the Empire, Get Scared, Dayshell, Palisades. Show starts at 6. Tickets are $20, at Smith's Tix.

• Southern rock jam band Gov't Mule performs at The Depot, 400 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Vintage Trouble. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $31, at Smith's Tix.

• Funk/glam/afrobeat rock band Of Montreal performs at The Urban Lounge, 241 S. 500 East, Salt Lake City. Opening act: La Luz. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $20, at 24Tix.
