Letter: Maybe Swallow would leave if forced to repay taxpayers

It's interesting if not disgusting to watch the John Swallow investigation as it pops into the news with every twist and turn. The cost of all this will never fully come to light, and the real losers, no matter the outcome, will be the taxpayers.

As it stands, the guy cashes his paycheck every week and has nothing to lose.

I wonder if Swallow would still defy the majority's wishes for him to step down if there was some downside, like requiring him to reimburse taxpayers for his salary and associated investigative costs if he's eventually removed from office.
