Unified Fire Authority crews rushed to the scene of a two-alarm blaze early Friday morning at a Midvale duplex.

No injuries were reported from the fire in the second-floor unit of the residence at 425 E. 7670 South in Midvale. The blaze was reported at 5:44 a.m. and was extinguished by 6:45 a.m..

UFA Battalion Chief Brian Anderton said the fire was contained to the upstairs unit and was believed to have begun in a bedroom.

The cause of the blaze, which resulted in an estimated $25,000 damage, was under investigation, but Anderton said it did not appear to be suspicious.

Anderton said the Red Cross was assisting a family of five living in the upstairs unit with food, shelter and clothing needs.
