Plans for tonight: From bluegrass to hip-hop

• Singer/songwriter Anthony Green performs at the Murray Theater, 4959 S. State St., Murray. Opening acts: Dave Davison (of Maps & Atlases), Brick and Mortar. Show starts at 6:30. Tickets are $15, at Smith's Tix.

• Portland, Ore., band Rare Monk, which mixes violin-tinged rock with psychedelic influences, plays The Salt Haus, 735 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City. Tickets are $13, at 24Tix.

• The Utah Jazz take on the New Orleans Pelicans, at EnergySolutions Arena, 301 W. South Temple, Salt Lake City. Game starts at 7. Tickets are available at Smith's Tix.

• Electronica/hip-hop maestro Steve Aoki headlines at The Complex, 536 W. 100 South, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Waka Flocka Flame, Borgore. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $34, at Smith's Tix.

• Singer-songwriter Ezra Furman performs at Kilby Court, 741 S. Kilby Court (330 West), Salt Lake City. Opening act: Tristen. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $10, at 24Tix.

• Modern bluegrass bands Greensky Bluegrass and Fruition share the bill at The State Room, 638 S. State St., Salt Lake City. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $20, at the venue's website.

• British pop star Jessie Ware performs at In the Venue, 219 S. 600 West, Salt Lake City. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $18, at Smith's Tix and 24Tix.

• Rapper Jel performs at The Urban Lounge, 241 S. 500 East, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: DJ Abilities, Serengeti, Tony Trimm. Show starts at 8. Tickets are $10, at 24Tix.
