The body of a 17-year-old boy was found in a Mount Pleasant creek Friday morning.

Investigators say the boy likely died of hypothermia, according to a press statement Friday afternoon by the Sanpete County Sheriff's Office. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.

The body was found near 150 East 50 North.

Results of an autopsy and toxicology tests will not be available for weeks, deputies wrote.

As of Friday morning, foul play had not been ruled out.

"It is too early in the investigation to rule anything out at this point," the sheriff's office reported in a brief statement.
