SUU's Lamb among Eddie Robinson Award finalists

Cedar City • Southern Utah's Ed Lamb has been named a finalist for the 2013 Eddie Robinson Award, which goes to the Football Championship Subdivision's Coach of the Year.

Lamb has guided the Thunderbirds to an 8-3 record and No. 20 national ranking in his sixth season as SUU. They close the regular season Saturday against Northern Arizona at Eccles Coliseum.

Among the other 19 finalists for the award are Eastern Washington's Beau Baldwin, Craig Bohl of No. 1-ranked North Dakota State and Dino Babers of second-ranked Eastern Illinois.

The Eddie Robinson winner will be honored Dec. 17 during an awards ceremony in Philadelphia, where the FCS Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Outstanding Freshman will also be announced. —
