Letter: Forum writers should try other paper

When we submit a letter to the Public Forum, if we are a staunch conservative we send it to the Deseret News, but if we are a staunch liberal we send it to the Tribune.

All this does is drive us further to the right or left in our thinking. But if we did the opposite and asked that our conservative ideas be printed in the Tribune, and our liberal ideas be printed in the Deseret News, or both, we could launch a robust dialogue that would help us understand the other side's thinking.

It might even lead to our finding compromises, something our nation badly needs.
