Price police say they have arrested the getaway driver in last week's armed robbery of a Smith's Food & Drug store.

Police Capt. Bill Barnes said investigators developed leads that took them to the 42-year-old Price woman's doorstep on Sunday. Under questioning, he said, the woman acknowledged she had driven the car for a 28-year-old male accomplice.

Barnes said the male suspect remained at large Monday, already was wanted on other unspecified warrants. A new arrest warrant for armed robbery was being sought, he said.

Barnes said the female suspect was booked into Carbon County Jail on suspicion of aggravated robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and obstruction of justice, where she remained Monday without bail.

Police said the gunman held up the store about 11:15 a.m. Nov. 26, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was hurt.

The bandit was described as 5-foot-11 and 170-180 pounds with a trimmed beard. He wore a blue hooded sweatshirt, a Utah State University baseball cap, dark pants and athletic shoes.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Price police at 435-636-3190.
