Police were hunting a man with a painted-on beard Thursday after he held up a Chase Bank on Redwood Road.

The man walked into the bank at 1295 S. Redwood Road about 12:24 p.m., according to police. He was dressed like the parody of a thug: fake beard, shiny glasses , puffy coat and a pirate-like striped shirt with a red bow.

The man demanded money, police say, then fled on foot.

Police describe the suspect as a Polynesian man, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 190 pounds, wearing a black coat with the hood pulled up over a white base ball cap, and sunglasses. The man apparently created his fake beard with makeup, police added.
