Luger Preston Griffall of Salt Lake City will take aim at his first World Cup medal when the international tour stops at the Utah Olympic Park near Park City this weekend.
The 29-year-old Olympian and doubles partner Matt Mortensen are 10th in the World Cup rankings after four races so far this season, and are coming off a season-best ninth-place finish in Whistler last weekend. Griffall graduated from Olympus High School, and finished eighth with former partner Dan Joye at the 2006 Turin Olympics in Italy.
The races will take place Friday and Saturday. It's the first time in three years that the tour has stopped in Utah.
