Las Vegas • Perhaps Caleb Bennett should try his luck at one of the casinos near the Thomas & Mack Center.

He's on a roll.

Bennett, who is from Morgan, posted a score of 84 points in the bareback competition and finished second during the sixth round of the $6.25 million National Finals Rodeo on Tuesday night.

Bennett earned $14,723 for his effort. He has placed in five of the six rounds so far and pocketed $46,576 since last Thursday night.

Bennett's runner-up finish in Round 6 also vaulted him into the lead in the NFR average standings.

Meanwhile, Kaycee Feild of Spanish Fork failed to place after posting a score of 81 points. But he remains first in the overall world bareback standings as he pursues his third consecutive championship.

In other events, Jesse Wright of Milford won the saddle bronc with a score of 83.5 points. The victory was worth $18,629.

Wright is the reigning world champion, but he has struggled in the fourth National Finals of his career. Before his win, he had placed only once in the first five rounds.

Wright's brothers, Cody and Jake, failed to place in Round 6.

In bull riding, Steve Woolsey of Payson did not score one night after he suffered a concussion in the fifth round.
