Here's what's being talked about in pop culture:

• Pope Francis is Time magazine's Person of the Year — though some wonder why NSA leaker Edward Snowden didn't get the title. (On the upside, Snowden probably already knew who won, and had time to prepare.) [Time.com, The Huffington Post]

• The Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations were announced this morning. The top movie honor, for best cast of a motion picture, will be fought over by "12 Years a Slave," "American Hustle," "August: Osage County," "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Lee Daniels' The Butler." [Variety]

• Get out your croquet mallets: A musical version of "Heathers" will open off-Broadway in March. [The New York Times]
