Utah gymnastics: Utes to host NCAA regionals in 2016, 2018

Indianapolis • The NCAA Women's Gymnastics Committee has selected the University of Utah to host an NCAA Gymnastics Regional in the Jon M. Huntsman Center in 2016 and 2018, the NCAA office announced Wednesday.

The dates for the regionals are April 2, 2016 and April 7, 2018. The top two teams from each of the six designated regional sites advance into the NCAA Championships. The 2016 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships were awarded to Ft. Worth, Texas, while the 2018 event will be held in St. Louis.

Utah has hosted 12 previous regional gymnastics championships, most recently in 2012. The Huntsman Center was also a site of the 1984, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2010 NCAA regionals.
