Taylorsville City Administrator John Inch Morgan has announced that he will become executive director of the Valley Emergency Communications Center (VECC) in January.
Morgan, who has been with Taylorsville for 17 years, made his announcement Wednesday, according to Aimee Newton, the city's communications director. He plans to resign next month, before his Jan. 13 start date with VECC.
In addition to being Taylorsville's administrator, Morgan has taught economics and business management for 15 years at Salt Lake Community College, according to his LinkedIn profile. He previously worked as deputy director of the Salt Lake Valley Health Department.
VECC is a police, fire, and medical emergency services dispatch agency in West Valley City. It serves 14 cities and Salt Lake County.
