Don Christensen is ending his term as a West Valley City councilman but his contributions to the community will continue.
The retired educator and school administrator, who won election to an at-large seat on the council in 2009, said he will remain active in civic affairs. His plans include continuing to serve on the Sister City Committee and being a member of other civic groups.
Christensen, 68, a 1963 graduate of Granger High School, ran for West Valley City mayor and lost in the August primary. His four-year term on the council ends in January. The councilman has a long history of service to the city and state, including stints on the West Valley Civic Committee and the State Board of Education.
