A fugitive allegedly got in a fight with South Ogden police who were trying to arrest him New Year's Eve.

About 10:30 p.m., South Ogden police stopped a vehicle at 3200 Adams Ave. One of the officers recognized a passenger as an outstanding fugitive, and believed he was armed and dangerous, according to a police news release.

Officers told the 30-year-old fugitive to get out, but he refused, according to the release. An officer eventually tried to use a Taser on him, but the man's clothing prevented it from working.

The man then got out and tried to run, the release adds. Police say that a fight ensued between them and the fugitive before they could take him into custody.

Two of the officers who were in the fight were treated at the hospital for minor injuries.

The man was treated at the scene and booked into Weber County Jail .
