A woman and her two dogs were attacked by three pit bulls Tuesday in Ogden, police say.

According to a press statement, the woman was walking her two chow-mix dogs about 7 a.m. in the 1500 block of 25th Street when the chows and the pit bulls began to fight, a neighbor told police. The woman and the owner of the pit bulls both were injured, police wrote. Both were treated and released at the scene.

One of the chow-mix dogs underwent surgery to stitch her abdomen, police wrote; the other suffered puncture wounds.

The pit bulls were quarantined and their owner is suspected of leash law violations, unlawful attack, and kennel violation for housing more than two dogs at one address, police wrote.
