Here's what's happening today in pop culture:

• Folk singer, activist and legend Pete Seeger died Monday night at the age of 94. [Vulture]

• The BBC has unveiled Peter Capaldi's costume for "Doctor Who" — and, as any Whovian can tell you, a new Doctor's choice of wardrobe is a major part of establishing his character. The highlights have to be the Doc Martens boots. [Entertainment Weekly]

• Actress Elizabeth Banks ("The Hunger Games") will make her directorial debut with "Pitch Perfect 2," the sequel to the college a capella comedy that he co-produced. [The Hollywood Reporter]
