A man and woman were critically injured Saturday in a Springville crash.

About 5 p.m., the couple were driving east on 400 South when a northbound pickup truck crashed into them in the Main Street intersection, said Springville Police Sgt. Dave Foster.

The fire department had to extricate the couple, who are in their early 60s, from their car before they were taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. Both were listed in critical condition, though doctors had stabilized them as of Saturday evening, Foster said.

The man driving the pickup was not hurt, Foster added.

Investigators are still talking to witnesses to figure out who had the light, Foster said.
