HB285 would remove the barrier that new restaurants must build to obscure bartending — the so-called Zion curtain. It also would allow patrons to get an alcoholic beverage without ordering food.

Bill sponsor Rep. Kraig Powell, R-Heber City, says current rules create confusion for tourists and residents, as well as headaches for restaurateurs.
