Day two of the 2014 NFL Combine is in the books and today was a lean day for Utah prospects with only BYU receiver Cody Hoffman working out. Here are a few observations after the quarterbacks, receivers and runningbacks worked out today:

1. Hoffman measured out at 6 feet 4 inches and 223 pounds with a 33 3/4 inch arm span and 9 3/4 inch hands. From a pure measurement standpoint, Hoffman came out ahead of many of his fellow receivers. His arm length and hand size were among the longest and largest at the Combine, positives for teams looking for a large catch radius and larger hands to secure the ball.

2. Even with positive measurables, Hoffman noticeably struggled in most of the drills. He finished fourth to last in the 40-yard dash with a 4.65 time, dead last in the vertical jump with a height of only 27.5 inches and dead last in the broad jump with only nine feet when 10 is considered the baseline for success. These results will fuel questions on Hoffman's ability to explode off the line of scrimmage and separate from NFL defenders in coverage.

3. Hoffman's biggest detraction may be totally out of his control: the sheer talent and number of receivers around him. From the top prospects (Sammy Watkins and Mike Evans) to potential mid-round gems (Jared Abbrederis and Donte Moncrief), Hoffman is stuck competing with one of the deepest draft classes in history. His tape in big games like against Wisconsin this year will help, but Hoffman is likely a sixth-round prospect at best, with the potential to slip to the seventh round — or out of the draft entirely.
