"It's great to be back here," Millsap said after the Hawks' morning shootaround. "It was even better when I got off the plane and the weather was great. But I love this area. It's a beautiful area."
Asked if it was "a little weird" to be in EnergySolutions Arena as a visiting player, Millsap smiled and said, "A lot weird. A lot weird. I didn't even know what the visitor's locker room looked like."
Hayward is also close friends with Atlanta point guard Shelvin Mack. They played together at Butler and led the upstart Bulldogs to the 2010 NCAA championship game.
Mack averages 7.7 points and 3.8 assists in 56 games this season.
"My guy Shell," Hayward said. "He's found a great place in Atlanta and he's playing well. I'm happy for him [and], what he's done. Just extremely excited for him."
