Krasnaya Polyana, Russia • Park City skier Danelle Umstead finished fourth for the second time in the Paralympic Winter Games, moving up from fifth place in the second run of the slalom event Wednesday.
Competing in the visually impaired class with her husband, Rob, as her guide, Umstead posted a two-run time of 2 minutes, 16.21 seconds. She was 13.27 seconds out of medal contention in the event that included seven contestants and was won by Russia's Aleksandra Frantcella.
Umstead has two events remaining in the Paralympics, Friday's completion of the postponed super combined competition and Sunday's giant slalom. Five snowboarders with Utah ties are entered in an event Friday.
