Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams and mayors of several valley cities teamed Wednesday to pay homage to volunteers who help homebound seniors through Meals on Wheels food deliveries.

"Meals on Wheels is great a example of neighbor caring for neighbor; the type of collaboration that's a hallmark of Salt Lake County Aging and Adult Services," McAdams said, referring to the county agency that oversees the food service.

Gathering at the 3M Health Information Systems' offices in Murray, the public officials accompanied volunteers as they delivered lunch to seniors along designated routes.

"I know I speak for all my fellow mayors when I say how much I look forward to visiting with the volunteers who deliver the meals and the seniors who receive them," McAdams said.
