BYU 7, San Francisco 5 • BYU's Brennon Lund went 3-for-5 with two RBIs as the Cougars won the West Coast Conference game to snap an eight-game losing streak.
BYU (8-16, 1-4) led 7-0 before USF scored two runs in the seventh inning and three in the eighth.
SLCC 6-4, College of Southern Idaho 4-2 • In Twin Falls, Idaho, Colton Barkdull hit a three-run double as Salt Lake Community College rallied for six runs in the sixth inning to win the first game, and SLCC pitcher Anthony Dixon held Southern Idaho to two runs over seven innings in the second game to complete the sweep.
The Bruins (20-8, 12-2 SWAC) extending their winning streak to 10 games.
Utah State 1, Colorado State 0 (9) • In Logan, Paxton Provost drove in Kirstyn Namba with a single in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting the Aggies to a victory in their Mountain West opener. USU pitcher Noelle Johnson tallied 14 strikeouts in the complete-game shutout.
Southern Utah 8-3, Weber State 7-8 • In Cedar City, Lyndsey Healey hit her first career home run as the host Thunderbirds won the opener. Weber State's Brooke Silva homered as the Wildcats won the second game.
In Goodyear, Ariz., BYU's Jordan Hammer was in fourth place after the second day of the Desert Shootout, helping put the Cougars in fourth place in the team standings. Hammer shot a 69 on Friday for a two-day total of 136, or 8 under par.
Southern Utah's Jake Holt (137) was in a tie for fifth place, and BYU's Kyle Weldon (139) was tied for ninth.
CSU Fullerton (555) led the team standings, UMKC and Idaho (559) were tied for second, and BYU (560) was in fourth.
