All things considered, Trey Burke's goal for the last two weeks of his rookie season is probably a bit too lofty. The Utah Jazz have season games left, and their young floor leader's stated mission is to win them all.
Easier said than done considering the Jazz are 23-52 to this point.
As they begin their final push tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans, perhaps a simpler goal for the Jazz would be to just hold onto the ball.
Turnovers have plagued Utah in the team's first three meetings with New Orleans. The Jazz have coughed up the ball at least 15 times in each game.
• Utah turned the ball over 21 times for 30 New Orleans points in a 111-105 win on Nov. 13.
• The Jazz coughed up the ball 15 times for 18 points in a 105-98 loss in New Orleans on Nov. 20.
• And they lost the ball 19 times for 33 Pelicans points in a 102-95 loss late last month.
"We have to make sure we take care of the ball," swingman Gordon Hayward said.
Browing out?
New Orleans star Anthony Davis (back spasms) participated in the team's shootaround this morning and will a game-time decision tonight, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
In sickness
Jazz center Andris Biedrins, who has a stomach flu and a strained shoulder, has already been ruled out. Guard Brandon Rush has a sore throat and is a game-time decision.
