Some of the more major changes proposed are on bus routes 45 and 47, which run along 4500 South and 4700 South in Salt Lake County. They are being rerouted to the Murray Central Station "so they can connect to both TRAX and FrontRunner" trains, Benson said.
Route 45 will also offer service every 15 minutes, instead of every 30 during rush hour and every 60 minutes at other times. The number of daily trips will increase from 46 to 113.
Benson said UTA will pay for that by trimming part of current route 228 (Foothill Blvd./2700 East) "because that area is going to be served well by the 45."
Route 17 between the University of Utah and the TRAX Central Pointe Station on 2100 South will be split, and rerouted a bit to better serve the University Medical Center. Route 9 will cover the northern part of the current circular route. Frequency on both routes will increase to every 30 minutes all day. Both will start earlier to add more morning trips.
In Utah County, Benson said, several changes are proposed to make "improvements to campus service to both Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University, and also better connections between FrontRunner in Lehi and the growing tech-employment sector" in the Thanksgiving Point area.

Three public hearings on the changes have been scheduled, including the following:
• May 6 at Salt Lake Community College Student Service Center Building, Room 225, 4600 S. Redwood Road, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• May 7 at Holladay City Hall, 4580 S. 2300 East, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
• May 7 at the Provo City Library at Academy Square, 550 N. University Avenue, Bullock Room 309, at 6:30 p.m.
