Trib Talk: Chatter of a new monument fuels Western fears

As anti-federal government feeling simmers throughout Western states, talk of new national monument designations by President Obama — that include four Utah sites — is fanning the flames.

On Tuesday at 12:15 p.m., San Juan County Commission Chair Bruce Adams, Jen Ujifusa of the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and Tribune Washington correspondent Thomas Burr join Jennifer Napier-Pearce to talk about the presidential power to protect lands, what monument designation means for surrounding communities and how another surprise announcement could play in the West.
