The Utah Transit Authority is sponsoring a free "Bike Bonanza" with giveaways and a bike rodeo on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Gallivan Center, 239 S. Main, in Salt Lake City.

UTA says it will feature information booths, a children's safety bike rodeo, BMX shows, helmet and bicycle giveaways, prizes, gear bags, pizza, ice cream and candy.

UTA also is sponsoring a slow-pace bike ride on Wednesday to highlight bicycle facilities and connections to transit in downtown Salt Lake City. It is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon, and will leave from UTA headquarters at 669 W. 200 South.

More information about the events is available online at rideuta.com.
