Police in Ogden are looking for a man who reportedly tried to entice two 8-year-old Boy Scouts to get into his car.

The boys were waiting about 5:40 p.m. Wednesday in the parking area outside an LDS stake house at 1402 Country Hills Drive when a pickup truck pulled up, Ogden police wrote in a press statement. The driver told the boys he had been asked by their parents to give them a ride home.

One of the boys asked the man for his family's "password," which the man could not provide. The boys ran away and reported the man's behavior to police.

The man was driving a late '90s Chevy S-10 open-bed pickup, dark colored, with a long scratch down one side, police said. He was described as being in his mid- to late 20s, Latino or white with a darker complexion, with blond hair spiked in a faux-hawk and a flat nose, police said.
