Unified Police officers got suspicious when they spotted a slow-moving car early Monday morning, thinking its driver was possibly drunk.
When officers tried to pull over the Ford Mustang, though, what could only be described as a "slow-speed chase" some 10-15 mph under the speed limit ensued. The pursuit didn't end until the suspect rammed another car and then crashed in a field about 4:30 a.m. Monday near 4700 West and 4200 South in West Valley City.
The 19-year-old man, who turned out to be wanted in connection with drug-related and theft offenses in Carbon County, then ran from the scene on foot. He reportedly knocked on several house doors asking to be let in, and eventually was detained by one resident until police arrived and made an arrest.
