Plans for tonight: Emmylou Harris kicks off Red Butte Garden's summer

• Punk/hardcore band Adventures performs at The Shred Shed, 60 E. Exchange Place (360 South), Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Foxing, Nora Dates, No Sun, And I the Lion. Show starts at 6:30. Tickets are $12, at 24Tix.

• Country-folk legend Emmylou Harris opens this summer's concert series at Red Butte Garden, 300 Wakara Way, University of Utah campus, Salt Lake City. Opening act: Nathaniel Rateliff. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $47 (general), at the Red Butte website.

• Southern California alt-rock band The Mowgli's performs at Kilby Court, 741 S. Kilby Court (330 West), Salt Lake City. Opening act: Finish Ticket. Show starts at 7. Tickets are $14, at 24Tix.

• L.A. hard-rock band Gemini Syndrome performs at Lo-Fi Cafe, 445 S. 400 West, Salt Lake City. Opening acts: Eyes Set To Kill, Exotype. Show starts at 7:30. Tickets are $10, at Smith's Tix.

• Australian folk-rock multi-instrumentalist Xavier Rudd performs at The Depot, 400 S. West Temple, Salt Lake City. Opening act: Ash Grunwald. Show starts at 9. Tickets are $25, at Smith's Tix.
