BYU's 2015 football schedule is now complete. But that doesn't mean it won't change. Thursday's scheduling news means that it most likely will. BYU and UCLA agreed to a home-and-home football series that calls for the first game to be played in 2015 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., and the second game to be played in 2016 at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo. The 2015 game is on Sept. 19 and the 2016 game is on Sept. 17. BYU now has seven road games in 2015 (at Nebraska, at UCLA, at Michigan, at Southern Mississippi, at San Jose State, at Utah State and at UNLV). Its home games in 2015 are against Boise State, East Carolina, Cincinnati, Connecticut and Fresno State. Of course, there is seemingly no way that BYU will accept only five home games in a season, so most scheduling experts believe the Cougars will try to restructure their deal with Southern Mississippi. Perhaps they will push the games back to 2016 and beyond.

"I'm excited for this series with UCLA. It's a great matchup versus an opponent rich in football tradition, and a team that will be fighting for a Pac-12 championship," said BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe in a school news release. "It's also a great opportunity for our large fan base in Southern California to see the Cougars play in the Rose Bowl—one of the most storied football venues in the country." BYU, independent in football, and UCLA of the Pac-12 renew a series that has featured 10 games between the two schools dating back to 1983. The Cougars and Bruins first met on Oct. 1, 1983 with BYU earning a 37-35 victory at the Rose Bowl. On the strength of six wins from 1985 to 1995, UCLA holds a 7-3 advantage in the series. The Cougars are 2-1 against the Bruins under current head coach Bronco Mendenhall. The two schools met twice in 2007 with UCLA achieving a 27-17 regular-season home win before BYU responded with a 17-16 victory in the 2007 Las Vegas Bowl. The Cougars won the last meeting 59-0 at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Sept. 13, 2008.
